South West Optics Has Partnered Up With Paignton Zoo

Exciting news!

South West Optics are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Paignton Zoo, who are part of the Wild Planet Trust.

As you know, we not only pride ourselves on being able to offer you the largest choice of high-quality optics, alongside excellent cus t omer service, but we also have a strong love of the natural world and we aspire to help our customers find and nurture a deeper connection with the wildlife around us. This partnership is the perfect way to continue our love of wildlife and everything that goes with it!

A little about the Wild Planet Trust

Established in 2019, but registered as an education, scientific and conservation charity since 1957, the Wild Planet Trust has been setting out to make a difference! Based in Devon, just like South West Optics, this conservation charity consists of two incredible zoo’s; Paignton Zoo and Newquay Zoo, as well as three nature reserves, Primley Park, Slapton Ley and Clennon Gorge, which are all open to the public to help showcase their work as well as being the ideal place to observe the local wildlife.

Focusing on wildlife conservation, the Wild Planet Trust has been working hard to help halt species decline, as well as working to protect at-risk animals and plants from the impact of biodiversity loss, and though they are based in Devon, they have taken their work world wide.

Their ethos is that they believe that every species is important, everything is connected and every action matters, which is something we here at South W est Optics, strongly believe in ourselves, and hope to keep inspiring all generations to help protect this wonderful planet's rich biodiversity.

Below is a YouTube video showcasing how our partnership has benefitted Paignton Zoo since we lent them a HIKMICRO FQ50. By lending the thermal monocular to Paignton Zoo, we are supporting their mission to care for wildlife effectively, enhancing their monitoring capabilities, and contributing to conservation efforts. In particular, the thermal device can be used for identifying health issues, monitoring animal welfare, and observing nesting birds, all at a distance that does not disturb the animals.
